$9,900 Turned to $220,000 Even With Prior Injury

Our client was driving through an intersection with the right of way, when another driver ran a stop sign and caused a crash. Our client underwent knee surgery approximately two years before the accident. Unfortunately, she reinjured the same knee in the crash and had to undergo another surgery.

The insurance company argued that our client’s knee injury was not related to the accident, since she had already undergone surgery on the same knee. They offered $9,900 to settle the case.

Hupy and Abraham Attorney Robert Domol filed a lawsuit and obtained a report from our client’s surgeon, in which he stated that the crash caused a new knee injury that required surgery. The insurance company agreed to pay $220,000 to settle the case at mediation.
